Small steps needed for enchanted walking trails
It’s time to play. To run, to explore, to pick flowers. To feel the brush of the forest or sit in the shade of a fig tree. To have a picnic under the pines. It’s time for families to be together as they discover Ibiza’s beautiful countryside, step by step, following our signposted hiking trails. Enjoy a perfect outing in the company of your children any time of year. Sound like a plan?
In Santa Eulària des Riu we like sports and family activities. That’s why you’ll find a series of signposted trails that wind along country roads and hilly paths, taking you through some of the most beautiful heartland and coastline our municipality has to offer. Our routes are always circular and encompass every level of ability, from the simplest – ideal for children – to the more challenging, recommended for seasoned hikers.
Two of the simpler routes are R-8, whose nearly 7 kilometres wind through the lovely fields of Santa Gertrudis, and R-4, which allows walkers to behold, over the course of two hours or so, part of the coastline near the town of Santa Eulària des Riu and the lower stretch of the river as well as interesting sites, such as the Ethnographic Museum of Ibiza and Puig de Missa. So, don’t forget to pack your best walking shoes when you come to see us.
