Walking Trails to Discover Ibiza Step by Step
Landscapes that are explored slowly cease to be fleeting images that gradually dis-appear in your rear-view mirror. Instead, they become lived cultural and sensorial experiences. In Santa Eulària you will find 14 walking trails that allow you to enjoy healthy activity as you immerse yourself in the aromas of the Mediterranean coun-tryside, in our traditional architecture and the sounds of nature. All of the trails are circular routes, and most of them are apt for the medium-to-low level. Of the 14 trails, two are noteworthy due to their distinctive character: the River Route and the Great Route.
Two Special Walking Routes: River Route and Great Route
These two routes have a significantly different profile from the rest. The River Route is a self-guiding walkway with informative panels that runs throughout Santa Eulària over a distance of 3 kilometres. Its aim is to highlight the town’s most important heritage elements, especially those relating to the sole river in the Balearic Islands. The Great Route, on the other hand, is the longest walking tour of all, and is the result of linking up several walking trails. It can be done in stages, at your own pace and convenience, keeping in mind that it covers a total distance of 63 kilometres and is also suitable for bicycle tourists.
Bicycle Touring Routes for Summer and Winter
If you like cycling and you don’t want to go without his healthy activity during your holiday in Ibiza, Santa Eulària offers you 12 cycling routes and a selection of companies from which you can hire a bike. Given that at least or more of the trails pass through all of our villages and resorts, it’s easy to use these routes any time of the year, although during the hottest months we highly recommend that you choose the early hours of the morning or the twilight hours of the evening for this activity. The municipality’s beaches, the quiet valleys of Sant Carles, the agrarian landscapes of Santa Gertrudis… All of Santa Eulària’s charms show themselves along our bike trails. Each trail is graded according to its level of difficulty so that bicycle tourists, whether occasional or regular, can find their ideal routes.
