If you stay on your sunbed, it’s only because you want to…
Walking through a silent valley, coasting down a forested hill on your bike, exploring hidden coves by kayak as you glide along the folds of our coast. That’s living. Breathing deeply of air scented with pine, juniper and salt. Disconnecting from the daily grind. This is what it means to feel the island and its landscapes as you experience the nature of Santa Eulària des Riu to the fullest.
In Santa Eulària, there are plenty of good reasons to keep active, whatever your age: a pleasant climate during much of the year, modern infrastructures, notable sports events on land and sea, signposted routes for every skill level, active tourism companies, tracts of wilderness, family options, and a wide range of activities to choose from, whether on land or sea. So, when you pack your suitcase, don’t forget your sports clothes: an Ibiza that can accelerate your heartrate is waiting for you.
Land sports: a workout that’s available year round
There are those who want to relax endlessly by the seashore, and those who stand up the minute they hear the word ‘trail’. For the latter type, and for those who want both options, Santa Eulària des Riu has a varied menu of routes for every preference and skill level: no fewer than 14 hiking routes for you to choose from, and 12 cycling routes, the majority of which are ideal for medium to medium-low levels.
If you like slow sports, our municipality is home to the island’s only golf course, and there is also the possibility of going for a relaxing ride on horseback.
Santa Eulària’s sports tourism also includes several especially interesting competitions, such as the Ibiza Marathon, Pujada al Puig de Missa, and Carrera Popular Passeig a Passeig, among other events.
Water sports for all kinds of aquatic thrills
The pleasant temperatures of our sea together with the transparency of its waters make the Santa Eulària coast a veritable paradise for lovers of aquatic sports. Along our 48 kilometres of coastline, you will find over 20 beaches and coves where you can practise any number of activities and disciplines, as well as quiet corners where you can snorkel, either following your own inclination or taking one of our recommended routes. And, of course, we have several underwater routes for scuba divers who want to explore our seabed.
Everyone, youngsters and oldsters alike, will have a fabulous time on the shores of Santa Eulària given that there are so many options to choose from. We offer high-octane activities all the way down to family fun, the latter usually centred on the town of Santa Eulària des Riu itself and the tourist resorts of Cala Llonga, Es Canar, s’Argamassa, Cala Martina and Cala Llenya. The options are broad and varied: a ride on a pedal boat, in a kayak, or on top of a stand-up paddle board; spins on a banana bus, a ringo or a crazy sofa; dinghy sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing; and high-adrenaline activities such as jet-skiing, water-skiing, foilboarding, flyboarding, kitesurfing, parasailing, and underwater scooters.
